So You Want to Transfer?

All those students planning on transferring to a four year school next fall: Make sure all of your information has been sent to the transfer school! Many deadlines have already past but others will be coming up very soon.

Many students come out of high school expecting college will be exciting and easily handled. Many have no idea what they want to do ... except go to college.

Knowing what you want is important. You need to pick a direction. You need to know that your path is achievable. Planning that path is vital.

Transferring to a four year school is a process not just an event. Talk to a counselor as you plan your future.

UVA Engineering Open House - March 23, 2013

The School of Engineering and Applied Science offers an annual, free and open to the public event that provides an opportunity for visitors to meet faculty and staff, interact with current students, take tours of state-of-the-art facilities, and attend interesting exhibits, presentations and demonstrations.

Bring friends, family members and others who have always wanted to know the answer to the question: “What do Engineers do?”Presentations often include "Sights and Sounds of Spaceflight," by former astronaut, Kathy Thornton; a discussion of admissions and curriculum by representatives from the U.Va. Admissions Office and the office of undergraduate programs in the Engineering School; and "Engineering Greats" by Professor Larry Richards. The day also includes exhibits in each department and walking tours of the Biomedical Engineering building and the Engineering School complex, led by faculty and students as well as activities planned by the Center for Diversity in Engineering.

There is no preregistration required for this event. Schedules and maps will be distributed from the registration table in the lobby of Thornton Hall on the day of the event and will be available on this site the week before.
