Randolph College: Regional Educational Access Program (REAP)

A private college education just got more affordable…

      Transfer students under the age of 24¹ and living in Lynchburg, Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, Campbell, and Nelson Counties can now participate in the new Randolph College Regional Educational Access Program (REAP).

      Randolph College’s REAP provides a more affordable path to an outstanding private college education for transfer students this fall.

      When transfer students are accepted² to Randolph College and live at home, tuition will be $12,275³ for the 2013-2014 academic year. A limited number of spaces are being reserved for area transfer students so please apply quickly.  Application deadline for transfer students is July 1^st.

      REAP reduces the cost to attend Randolph to less than the average for tuition, room, and board for public colleges and universities in Virginia. According to the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV), tuition, mandatory fees, and room and board averaged $18,617 for the current academic year⁴.

      More importantly, REAP students will get an excellent education that rivals Virginia’s best institutions; learn in small classes with personal attention from faculty; and enjoy all of the sports, arts, cultural, and traditional events on campus. The Randolph Plan, a program that maps the academic path, enables students to acquire analytical, research, and communication skills that will prepare them for their first job, graduate school, and future careers that haven’t even been imagined yet.

Deadline Extended for Transfer Scholarship Competition at LC

Lynchburg College has extended the deadline to apply for the Transfer Scholarship Competition to May 15.  The combined Transfer Scholarships and Scholarship Competition awards range from $8,000 to $13,500 and are renewable each year. • Submit a completed transfer application and receive a $30 application fee waiver.

As the Commonwealth's leading engineering institution, we host an Open House every spring to share with you some of the many benefits that Virginia Tech has to offer. The college of engineering Open House typically draws over 1,500 students, parents, and teachers.

Included in the day-long Engineering Open House are presentations by engineering faculty and sessions covering information about admissions and specific engineering requirements. The departments in the College of Engineering as well as many of the campus student organizations have displays, and Virginia Tech students are available to answer questions. Tours of engineering facilities and displays of our award-winning student design projects are also available.

Randolph College On-Site Admissions

As part of Randolph College’s continued commitment to educating the best and the brightest students in the Central Virginia community, we have strengthened our financial support for local transfer students.   Through a combination of merit scholarships, state grants, and need-based financial aid, the average tuition cost at Randolph College for admitted transfer students living in the Central Virginia area will be $9,500 per year for Fall 2013.

Lisa Davis will be on the CVCC – Main Campus for an On-Site Admissions event Monday, March 11, 2013 from 11:00AM to 1:00PM and again from 5:00PM to 7:00PM. 

Randolph College On-Site Admissions Requirements:

Students who meet all of the following criteria will be instantly admitted for Fall 2013

·         Completed Application – Either paper application or application online and printed for me to review.  Both applications can be found here http://www.randolphcollege.edu/x194.xml.

·         All official college transcripts demonstrating a college GPA of 2.7 or higher. 

·         Essay or a graded written assignment of at least 500 words demonstrating quality writing with minimal grammatical errors.
